I wish streaming companies would leave good books alone. First they ruined The Wheel of Time. Then they ruined Tolkien with that travesty Rings of Power. Then they ruined Witcher. They've already ruined Star Trek and Star Wars. Maybe it's a good thing that Asimov's foundation won't give up the rights to his books.
The streaming services need to create original works, not destroy books that are already popular with people.
But, if they did that, nobody would watch them. Nobody wants to watch a mustached man play a woman, nor do they want want to watch badly written smut on TV.
Hell, I'm not even going to watch the Prydain series Disney's making either. At this point, it's just a cheap money grab, that's draining slowly and surely.
As much as it bodes badly it may never make it out of development. People who think matters are all decided by profit are the dullest when it comes to these matters.
They are caught flat footed by african american lions and the like.
To return to Lewis, he identified robber barons and would be 'educators' of man. Issue is, as much as a robber baron type human might produce a decent series due to desire to make fat stacks of cash, in the hierarchy of evil, the baron is very low down, and more than willing to do the bidding of lunatic cultists, because you see, the baron loves his bribes and cares only for business in the sense of money.

To Dom Bede Griffiths, 4 April 1934:
I had better say once and for all that I do not intend to discuss with you in the future, if I can help it, any of the questions at issue between our respective churches. . . . I do not think there is any thing distressing for either of us in agreeing to be silent on this matter: I have had a Catholic [Tolkien] among my most intimate friends for many years and a great deal of our conversation has been religious. When all is said (and truly said) about the divisions in Christendom, there remains, by God’s mercy, an enormous common ground. It is abstaining from one tree in the whole garden.
"I don’t care how much some may try to praise the opportunity, but being a catholic Bible study series, I don’t think a woman who converted away from Catholicism into being a Unitarian, in other words a member of a left-leaning religion, would be a good fit for the series, as there might be bias against a Catholic book series."

The K,J and even C dramas are what are keeping Netflix alive. The only global “thing” that’s actually working.
Netflix is basically on life support, with more people preferring to go elsewhere, with everything being removed at this point.
Go woke, go broke. Nihilism in action. When a company would rather push an agenda than actually make money, they are usually headed for the junk heap.

He'll let it all burn so long as he gets coin.

"As Netflix is reshuffling its entire business out of panic for shutting down...."
Aha- all that perverse amount of money spent on acquiring media talent and then telling it to go fuck itself is catching up with them now!
Hope so! Damn I hate Netflix
I hope Comcast or WBD buys them out so that their catalogue can properly come out on DVD.
A slight caveat.
C.S. Lewis, was an Anglican, not a Catholic.

Interesting, however I didn't mention that Lewis was Catholic.
"I don’t care how much some may try to praise the opportunity, but being a catholic Bible study series, I don’t think a woman who converted away from Catholicism into being a Unitarian, in other words a member of a left-leaning religion, would be a good fit for the series, as there might be bias against a Catholic book series."
Maybe I misunderstood the context.
I suppose I should have said Christian Bible study, but it's all Bible study anyways.
Now that is a valid point!
